Advising, Advocating, Problem Solving
Throughout her career Juliet has been the “go to” resource when something needed to be quickly analyzed, a response developed and a fire doused… She first developed these skills in the field as a journalist but those skills are equally as important in the practice of law. As a lawyer, Juliet’s clients say that she is smart, reliable and dependable. Having worked with clients in a broad range of industries, including technology, social media, quick service restaurants, retail and government she knows what it takes to run a successful business and how to protect the rights of individuals and companies in business, property and consumer disputes to protecting the rights of property owners and consumers. Juliet knows how important it is to start off on the right foot, so she focuses part of her practice on litigation avoidance by advising start-ups and growing businesses on their structure and drafting and negotiating all types of business agreements. When it comes to protecting what you have worked so hard to build, having an attorney like Juliet on the front line to assist your company with crisis management, tackling employee issues and protecting intellectual property is something you can’t afford to do without.
Many attorneys only know what it is like to work on the outside, but Juliet has also worked on the “inside” –as the Assistant General Counsel of a large Phoenix based national franchisor (Cold Stone Creamery). There she not only supervised the day to day legal needs of the company but worked in a leadership capacity in the business, defining and implementing strategic initiatives and overseeing difficult projects like a reduction in force and management of claims in the wake of a salmonella outbreak.
She has also worked in the public sector–running the largest division of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. She has had experience restructuring a struggling organization—managing hundreds of people, tackling complex public-facing issues and crafting budgets. Juliet has also been on the front lines of preparing, litigating and settling a variety of civil cases—having spent six years at Gallagher and Kennedy, PA.
It’s a unique skill-set that Juliet brings to the table each time she works with a client. She understands that most companies need more than just “the pure legal” from their lawyer. They need practical advice, fresh ideas, multi-layer strategies, access to other professionals, and an understanding of available community resources. Juliet also believes that the billable hour is really no way to run a railroad—that is why she works with clients to come up with alternatives that work best for them.
